Kilmartin Castle sits over Kilmartin Glen, one of the most important archeological areas in Scotland. The castle, called Kilmartin, was bought by its current owners, an elderly couple who use it as a second home, in the 1980s. It was a ruin and they carried out extensive rebuilding and restoration. From left: Kilmartin is run as a boutique B&B but the castle can be hired on an exclusive-use basis. With sustainability high up on the agenda, breakfast options depend on what’s in season; The banqueting table was made by the castle’s previous owner, Tom Clarke. Stef, originally from Newcastle in the North of England and Simon, from Adelaide, Australia were living in Dubai working as a radio presenter and creative director respectively.
